ADMISSION REQUIREMENT

The candidate must attain a minimum age of 17 years on or before December 31st of the academic year in which admission is sought.

Applicants must submit either the original certificate or a certified true copy of the original certificate, indicating successful completion of three subjects in a single sitting. This must include at least two Science subjects at Advanced (‘A’) level (or equivalent), with a minimum total of 21 points, calculated according to the scoring scale established by the Medical Council of Mauritius, as outlined below:

Candidates may present any of the following qualifications as evidence of meeting the academic requirements:
Higher Secondary Examination or Indian School Certificate ExaminationAn examination equivalent to the 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination after a total of 12 years of study. The last two years must include Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics or other elective subjects, with English at a level not less than the core course prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) following the implementation of the 10+2+3 educational structure recommended by the National Committee on Education.Note: If the course content does not align with the prescribed 10+2 curriculum, candidates will be required to undertake a one-year pre-professional training period prior to admission to medical colleges.
Intermediate Examination in ScienceAn examination conducted by an Indian university or recognized examining body, including Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, with practical assessments in each subject, and English as a compulsory subject
Pre-Professional / Pre-Medical ExaminationAn examination that includes Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, obtained after passing the higher secondary school examination, pre-university, or an equivalent qualification. This examination must incorporate practical tests in the relevant subjects, with English as a compulsory subject.
First Year of a Recognized University Degree CourseCompletion of the first year of a three-year degree program at a recognized university, with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, including practical assessments in these subjects, provided the examination is a university-administered exam and the candidate has passed the 10+2 level with English at a level not less than the core course
B.Sc. Degree ExaminationSuccessful completion of a B.Sc. degree from an Indian university, with a minimum of two subjects among Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany/Zoology), along with passing the earlier qualifying examination in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.
Other Equivalent ExaminationsAny other examination deemed equivalent to the intermediate science examination of an Indian university or recognized board, which includes Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, with practical assessments in each subject, and English as a compulsory subject.

Foreign applicants must ensure compliance with the regulatory requirements set forth by the relevant authorities in the country where they intend to pursue their medical studies. This includes verifying their eligibility to enroll in an undergraduate medical program in that country. Additionally, they must confirm that their qualifications will be recognized and accepted for medical practice in their home country.

All applicants must have a credit in English at the O-Level and must have passed the General Paper at the AS-Level or hold equivalent qualifications deemed acceptable by the University for admission purposes.
International applicants who do not meet the above criteria are required to demonstrate proficiency in English through one of the following standardized tests:
International English Language Testing System (IELTS): Minimum overall score of 7.0 Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): Minimum score of 550 on the paper-based test, or Minimum score of 79 on the internet-based test (iBT)
